About Sonare Design
Lauren Brown, owner of Sonare Design (pronounced so-NA-reh), is a web designer based out of Waynesville, NC who works with women-owned small businesses around the United States to establish (or upgrade) their company website.
She has been creating websites since the mid 90’s, when animated torches, scrolling marquees, hit counters, and rainbow bars were popular, and Geocities was the preferred way to grab real estate on the web (all 2 megabytes of it).
Her first website was a tribute to a band she liked. Her second was a free font archive — which Lauren maintained for about a decade. (She still makes her own fonts over at QuickBrownFoxFonts.com.) Both of these websites were learning experiences. Back then, we didn’t have content management systems like we do today, so fluency in HTML (and later, in CSS) was mandatory.
Lauren also enjoys playing music. She’s recorded and toured with various bands and plays several instruments — guitar, bass, violin, cello, viola, and piano. You may have even heard her on an album or two as a studio musician.
Sonare Design is a subsidiary of ElleseeArts, LLC.
